Since 1955, Mexico’s fastest mouse has been darting across television screens and regularly leaving Sylvester the cat bewildered behind him.
Now Warner Bros. is said to be working on a modern remake of Speedy Gonzales, allegedly produced by Dylan Sellers and Eugenio Derbez. However, there are reportedly no writers or director to date. A few years ago, New Line Cinema was already planning a Speedy Gonzales film with George Lopez as the voice of the speedy Mexican. But nothing came of the project.
Warner Bros. also has no release date for the production yet. We can only advise Speedy Gonzales: Run away fast!
To indulge in old retro feelings once more, everyone sing along: “Speedy-bi, Speedy-bo, the fastest mouse in Mexico!”
