Nuke in version 10

The Foundry has announced the release of Nuke 10 for the entire product line, focussing primarily on stability, improved performance and new functions in the painting, rendering and export areas.

To avoid bottlenecks in common tasks, The Foundry has improved performance in various functional areas: Roto Paint, Vector Blur, Timeline Manipulation and Transcoding run much faster in Release 10, according to the company, while Nvidia multi-GPU support speeds up the processing time for GPU-accelerated nodes on the corresponding hardware.

Nuke X and Nuke Studio also work more efficiently for clean-up, replacement and augmentation tasks in Release 10 thanks to the Smart Vector Toolset. This technology, developed by The Foundry research team, enables high-quality motion vectors to be generated from image sequences. Nuke Studio’s editing and finishing tools have also been updated: In addition to optimised performance, new soft effects are now available in the timeline, including real-time chroma keying, colour correction and the option to create your own GPU-based effects.

According to The Foundry, the release of version 10 of the Nuke products will follow this week. Hiero and Hieroplayer 10 will then also be released.

An overview of all the new features in version 10 can be found on The Foundry website.
