Drastic Technologies/DVC GmbH today announced further development of their digital video technology by expanding its support for Microsofts Windows Media 9 Series. Drastic now offers broadcast and production quality tools and automatic proxy generation. This means that at the same time that the ClipRecorder HD/SD, which is based on Drastics QuickClip Software, are recording uncompressed media files, automatic proxy generation can simultaneously create compressed Windows Media Video 9 files, providing easy audio and video distribution to media professionals for remote reviewing and editing of digital dailies.
In addition to Microsofts Windows Media Series, the ClipRecorder also supports the following
· DTV standard definition, PAL or NTSC
· HDTV support (1080i,1080p,720p at standard frame rates)
· Uncompressed 8 and 10 bit video YCbCr and RGB
· Legacy Quick Time (MOV), Jaleo (JS), Avid DS-HD, AVI, RAW YUV
· 6 channel AES/EBU audio
· RP-188 timecode
· Video server capabilities via VDCP, Odetics and Sony protocols
· Batch digitize, lay back with EDL support
· MediaReactor translation support (AVI, MPG, OMF, Stills, Audio)
· Network HTTP and TCP/IP control
· Standard NTFS disk and file support, locally or via SAN
