SynthEyes is the name of another tracking solution that is available at a significantly lower price than many other professional trackers. That it is not junk for 399 dollars is demonstrated by its use in films such as King Kong or Pirates of the Caribbean 2. The new SynthEyes 2007 release has now appeared for Siggraph.
In addition to faster, more precise and more robust tracking for multiprocessor computers, greenscreen masking is certainly one of the most important new features in this version. If an actor obscures parts of the blue- or greenscreen with active markers, SynthEyes 2007 does not stop tracking, but automatically continues. In addition, a light source can be reconstructed on the basis of reflections, 3D curves can be captured and exported to Bentley MicroStation.
SynthEyes 2007 runs on Windows 32-bit and 64-bit systems, as well as on PowerPC and Intel Macs.
