With several new product variants, Harmonic (stand 1.361) will in future offer processing of video streams in standard racks. With the ProStream 2000, SD and HDTV MPEG-4 video streams can be broadcast simultaneously in a standard rack for use as an IPTV signal. With the ProStream 1000 Descrambler in a new compact design, the user can process up to 128 services simultaneously. Video data delivered via IPTV for further distribution by cable or also DVB-T is prepared with the descrambler and selected for further distribution.
Harmonic has now also integrated its DiviTrackMX statistical multiplexer into the ProStream 1000. This enables up to 64 compressed MPEG-2 data services with a variable or constant bit rate to be processed via the ProStream 1000, and the available bandwidths for program distribution via cable or IP to be assigned more easily according to the respective incoming data volumes.
