More than 390,000 viewers saw “The Simpsons Movie” on the opening day, as media control reports. Homer Simpson and his family will probably conquer number one in the media control cinema charts directly. They even disenchant Harry Potter. According to the trend evaluations, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” falls to position two. Behind the fifth part of the wizard saga lies another animated hero in the form of the green ogre Shrek (“Shrek the Third”).
A twelve-person team of authors around James L. Brooks and creator Matt Groening was responsible for the screenplay. David Silverman took the director’s chair. Prominent guest stars include the band Green Day, actor Tom Hanks and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The 18th season of the series, which has received more than 20 Emmys, runs on ProSieben starting in September 2007. The 400th episode will then also be broadcast.
