Schenker Presents New Tablet PC for Under 1,000 Euros

The integrated Intel GMA X3100 graphics core has up to 256 MB of shared memory and offers DirectX10 support, allowing the tablet PC to be used for graphics-intensive office applications. Users of the “TN120R” can choose between the supplied stylus and the notebook keyboard for data entry. These features make Schenker’s new device an ideal companion for business customers who need substantial performance reserves while also wanting to benefit from the ergonomic advantages of a touchscreen.

The high-contrast non-glare display of the “TN120R” is pressure-sensitive and allows handwritten notes and drawings to be entered using a wireless pen. These can be digitised and transferred to any office application for further processing. The touchscreen display also allows text and graphic elements to be edited and a wide range of program functions to be accessed. The “TN120R” can optionally be equipped with fast-spinning hard drives of up to 200 GB at 7,200 revolutions per minute or a solid state disk (SSD) of up to 64 GB. The equipment is completed by a Bluetooth adapter (V1.2), Gigabit LAN connection, Intel 4965AGN WLAN card and the Targus ExpressCard™ docking station, which provides DVI, 5.1 sound and S/PDIF in addition to the usual standard connections.

Flexible Configuration

Like all Schenker notebooks, the new “TN120R” tablet PC can be configured individually. The top model among a total of six processors is the Core 2 Duo T9500 with a clock speed of 2 x 2.6 GHz, 6 MB L2 cache and an 800 MHz frontside bus. The Leipzig-based manufacturer offers the Intel Celeron M 540 as the entry-level option. Memory is also variable, since the two SO-DIMM sockets can be populated with a maximum of 4,096 MB (2 x 2,048 MB). For hard drives, users can choose between fast-spinning 7,200 rpm models (maximum 200 GB), 5,400 rpm models (maximum 320 GB) or a solid state disk of up to 64 GB. The notebook can optionally be equipped with a Blu-ray Disc-capable combo burner.

The “TN120R” tablet PC is available now through the Schenker Notebook online shop at http://www.mysn.de and costs 844 euros in its minimum configuration (Celeron M 540, 1,024 MB RAM, 120 GB hard drive, Intel GMA X3100, WLAN, Windows Vista Home Premium) and 1,784 euros as the top model (T9500, Intel GMA X3100, 4,096 MB RAM, 320 GB hard drive, Blu-ray Disc-capable combo burner [read only] WLAN module 4965AGN, Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit). All notebooks are also available without an operating system.
