According to the company, the cooperation not only promotes the next generation of developers but also offers all scholarship holders the opportunity to complete their practical semester at Gameforge.
“We have high hopes for the next generation of developers,” says Klaas Kersting, founder and CEO of Gameforge. “With the scholarship programme, we have succeeded in creating a mutual win-win situation. The scholarship holders can study what they enjoy most, while Gameforge fosters their creativity and talents. They also have the opportunity to put the knowledge they have acquired into practice at our company and to continue developing together with us.”
“As an educational institution, we want the programme we have established to underscore the importance of this profession, and we are especially pleased to have Gameforge at our side as a strong partner that actively supports us. Here, two representatives of the industry are pulling together to advance the promotion of young talent — this is a forward-looking signal,” says Thomas Dlugaiczyk, Rector of the Games Academy.
Applications are being accepted immediately. Interested parties can apply until September 11, 2009, for a partial scholarship for the four-semester “Game Programming” course beginning in October at the Games Academy.
