Electronics group Technicolor (formerly Thomson) is acquiring French post-production company Mikros Image. The award-winning VFX studio, with locations in Paris and Montreal, is known among other things for the effects in “Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods”, “Mune le gardien de la lune” and “The Little Prince”.
With this move, Technicolor wants to strengthen its position in the animation market. The recent acquisition of French TV animation studio Ouido Productions also supports this.
Mikros is also successful in the advertising segment and produces animations for well-known brands such as Evian, Dior and Audi. With the acquisition of the studio, Technicolor will thus also become a leader in the French advertising market.
