On Mixamo, game designers create 3D characters directly in the browser. With Mixamo 2.0, the website relaunch, this is now intended to work faster and more smoothly – all by itself, without an extra browser plug-in. To do this, Mixamo uses WebGL technology, renders 3D and 2D graphics live in every modern web browser.
In the new Mixamo Store, game artists can browse a wide variety of animated 3D characters, save them as favourites and filter search results more precisely. The new Editor View allows individual figures to be edited in the same browser window without having to leave the overview of search results for a new tab.
Mixamo has also spruced up its motion pack: The new “Animation Pack” and has 22 new movement sets that can be customised individually. Mixamo 2.0 also runs as a mobile version on smartphones and tablets.
And to celebrate the launch, all Mixamo Fuse characters are available auto-rigged as a free download.
