Under the title “Be inspired”, young editors and students can demonstrate their editing skills in a two-minuter. In it, they are to show what inspires them and cut the footage with Avid Media Composer. A prerequisite is that the licensing rights for the video material or incorporated music used by the participants have been cleared.
If they wish, participants can also use a free trial version of the Media Composer software, which can be downloaded at http://connect.avid.com/media-composer-trial.html.
The competition runs until October 11. Prizes include a trip to London including a tour of Pinewood Studios, as well as Media Composer or Pro Tools licences for the three best entries. The winners will be decided by professional editors Anne-Sophie Bion (“The Artist”, “Micmacs”), Mick Audsley (“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin”), Toni Froschhammer (“Pina”, “The Salt of the Earth”) and TV documentary editor founder of Inside the Edit, the online course programme for creative editing, Paddy Bird.
