Software Plug-ins

Our next DP issue 03 : 17 is packed with useful little helpers for their favourite software: among other things, we will show like you how to make your workflow more efficient with Boris FX, GenArts Sapphire, FilmConvert or Red Giant Magic Bullet. In addition, we explain how gigantic worlds can be created virtually with MultiScatter and Forest Pack Pro in 3ds Max and how CG hair no longer poses a problem with Ornatrix.

Further Training, Career Changes & Alternatives to University Study

How do you return to a career in the film and CG industry if, for example, you have taken a longer break due to parental leave? We spoke with Katrin Richthofer from the Study Centre at HFF Munich about these topic; she also gave us an overview of the university’s current further-training offering.

Anyone who wants to work as a 3D artist does not necessarily have to have studied. We met 3D artist and trainer Dominik Markota from Sunday Digital for an interview, in which he showed us the advantages of the vocational-training path. Anyone who has already completed a degree might be interested in the career-change programmes for Technical Director and Animation Effects Producer at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
