Blackmagic Design releases version 17.3 of DaVinci Resolve.
The new features include: DaVinci Resolve should now run up to three times faster on Macs with an M1 chip. According to Blackmagic Design, you can even work on 8K projects on an M1 notebook. And thanks to tile-based rendering, battery life should be increased by up to 30 per cent – provided you are currently working with Resolve. Version 17.3 also supports a new option for Apple users for H.265 hardware encoding: You can prioritise between quality and speed when rendering, which improves the rendering time by up to 65 percent – assuming the right settings. Also not to be underestimated: DaVinci Resolve now decodes AVC Intra files with the media engine integrated in the Apple M1 chip. This should speed up decoding and playback with this file format.
Further information: DaVinci Resolve 17.3 is available for download from Blackmagic Design. There you can also find out everything else about the new features in the 17.3 release of DaVinci Resolve.
