The extensive supporting programme gives experts a chance to answer the questions currently occupying the industry – including what lies behind the hype surrounding 3D cinema.
170 exhibitors, 15 countries. cinec is one of the most important events for cine equipment and technology and attracts visitors and exhibitors from around the world to Munich every two years. With a clear focus, the trade fair is aimed at everyone who works professionally with moving images and presents proven and new developments in camera technology, camera support/grip, lighting, sound, post-production, stereo 3D, archiving, data management, equipment, accessories and production-related services.
This year, the supporting programme focuses on stereo 3D and modern workflows. 3D films are on everyone’s lips – for many productions, stereo 3D is the format of the future. Anyone who wants to impress the largest possible audience with great visual effects will no longer be able to avoid 3D cinema. This type of film production places great demands on every area of filmmaking – innovative technologies are required from production preparation through to projection technology in cinemas.
However, the new technology also creates new uncertainty, and everyone involved, from capture to projection, has a considerable need for information. As the leading trade fair for cine equipment and technology, cinec aims to meet this need with an extensive programme of workshops and lectures – practice-oriented and intended for every group of filmmakers: cinematographers and editors, post-production specialists and cutters, directors and screenwriters, production designers and producers, through to distributors.
One thing is certain: meticulous preparation and outstanding technical execution are basic requirements for success – stereo 3D shoots leave no room for improvisation.
