New features in RenderMan 21 will include:
- Comprehensive redesign of the Maya user interface
- Improved rendering experience in “RenderMan for Katana Live”
- GPU-accelerated denoising
- New lights, the same ones Pixar uses
- New material and light-rig preset browser in the Maya user interface
- Improvements to volume-rendering performance and deformation motion blur
- New, advanced materials also used in Pixar production
- OSL built into RenderMan, supported by Maya and Katana
- New, optimised displacement workflow
