If you missed The Foundry’s live event yesterday, you can register here and watch the presentation of the new Nuke version.
In addition to the presentation of the new Nuke versions, The Foundry also announced that there will be a free version of Nuke, NukeX and Nuke Studio in 2015, which can be used to realise non-commercial projects – good news for anyone who has not yet had any experience with Nuke. All further information can be found here.
In the new Nuke version, the main aim is to improve the speed and performance of the compositing tool. We have already listed the features that Nuke and NukeX will receive with the upcoming update in detail here. However, it is not yet known exactly when Nuke 9 will be released. According to The Foundry, Nuke Studio, the node-based editing and finishing tool that covers the complete range of a production, will be released later this year. Here you can find the complete feature list of Nuke Studio.
The Foundry has also certified the hardware that goes with Nuke for Nuke 9: The HP Z820 workstation runs a Linux operating system, has an Nvidia Quadro K5200 card and 32 GB RAM.
In addition, the Foundry has published the “1st Seat 12 Month Payment Plan”: this allows customers who wish to purchase their first licence of Nuke, NukeX or Nuke Studio to spread the total cost over 12 months in monthly payments.
