Free: OpenEXR for Photoshop

You can now use OpenEXR in Photoshop with the new free “Exr-IO” plug-in. It lets you import render channels as layers and much more. We present the most important features.

Exr-IO is a free Photoshop plug-in with which you can open and save OpenEXR files. It loads OpenEXR files with multiple layers into individual Photoshop layers. It was developed by 3D-io, which is also known for other plug-ins, such as the UV unwrapping plug-in “Unwerella” for Maya.

Exr-IO comes with a range of practical features for your Photoshop workflow. You can watch a brief overview in this 60-second featurette.

• Opening and saving all channels of an OpenEXR file
• Support for Photoshop layer features such as blending layers and opacity
• Support for color profiles and color spaces
• Extened loading and saving options
• Adobe Photoshop 32- and 64-bit support (Windows)
