After the last major update, Adobe’s compositing and motion graphics all-rounder has some exciting new features. Find out what the new After Effects has to offer here.
Essential Graphics Panel
The new control panel enables a quick overview and editing of important parameters of a composition. It can be opened by right-clicking on a composition. You then have the option of adding various variables such as text or colour via drag & drop, editing them, commenting on them and saving them in the CC library. You can then export your compositions as templates via Essential Graphics and use them in Premiere Pro. You can find detailed instructions on how to use the new panel here.
New effect: Camera Shake Deblur
With the new Deblur effect, unusable shots can finally be corrected without third-party plugins. The effect removes artefacts caused by camera shake. You can set the number of frames, method, strength and sensitivity.
Lumetri Scopes
The long-awaited colour management tools already known from Premiere Pro are now coming to After Effects. The Lumetri Scopes include Vectorscope, Histogram, Parade and Waveform.
Further new features and fixes
In addition to the features mentioned, there are further improvements. Among other things, After Effects now offers native support for footage with frame rates above 99 fps, Dynamic Link for team projects, simplified management of effects on a layer and more. You can read the complete release notes here.
Price and compatibility
The tool is available from €23.79 per month or as a bundle here. You can find the system requirements here. If you are looking for an easy introduction to the software, you can also learn the basics here.
