Curse and you shall be heard – With the recent release of 3ds Max 2020 and the software roadmap, Autodesk once again had to take a lot of criticism. The new features included improvements for OSL and import features, animation previews, as well as adjustments to the Chamfer modifier – which many users considered far too little for the monthly or annual costs.

Autodesk has now apparently taken to heart the values for product development mentioned in the official roadmap: with adjustments to the prices and a new Lifetime Subscription option, many Max users should be able to breathe a sigh of relief again.

Lifetime Subscription Model

Previous licenses for 3ds Max were available for 249.90 (month), 1,999.20 (year) and 5,396.65 euros (3 years). With the introduction of the new license option, Autodesk has now adjusted these prices. The Lifetime Subscription model is available for 3ds Max and includes, among other things..

  • Unlimited ongoing subscription to the software
  • Assets & Maintenance from Autodesk are included
  • Version Downloader for the free download of all previous versions

Anyone who only recently took out a new subscription can contact Autodesk Support with the corresponding receipt to request compensation. However, the order must have been placed within the last 6 months.

Availability

The new prices and licenses are available only today here on Autodesk’s website.
