USD (Universal Scene Discription) is currently on everyone’s lips. Alongside the SideFX team, which already showed presentation-ready integrations (Project Solaris) at Siggraph 2019, Autodesk has also spoken up. On the Autodesk blog, the company recently announced that a USD integration for Maya will appear soon. The entry says it joined forces with Animal Logic, Luma Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios for the work. The starting point was the original USD Maya plug-in. No exact release date was stated.
