See through with this eye rig

Who wouldn’t want to use Blender 3.1 to expand their eyeball collection? The artist Max Edge makes you beautiful (and corneous) eyes.

In nuce: A Blender artist, who goes by the apparently resounding pseudonym Max Edge, shares his eye rig with you, which character artists should aim their goggles at. You need Blender 3.1 for the rig.

What can the eye rig do? This great tool allows you to adjust the eye colour, depth and size of the pupils, as well as the iris and cornea. You can also adjust the shape of the pupils until you are looking into the eyes of a raptor with a bite or a scratchy cat.

Eyes on: If you like to collect eyes in your spare time or are otherwise keen on eye-catchers, click (and look) back to 17 July 2018 , when the Blender community was delighted with the photorealistic eye generator. Also take a look (but no eyeballs from your eye-filled bucket, please) at 9 February 2017, because back then we slipped a 16-minute video tutorial into your viewing window, with which you can create realistic-looking eyes with ZBrush and Keyshot under your eyelids. We hope you enjoy watching (both didactically and binocularly) this eye-catching learning content.

Looking further: Watch the video below to find out (in picture and sound) how Max Edge’s rig works. You can download the eye rig free of charge from Gumroadhowever, in view of Max Edge’s petty cash, we recommend that you make a modest contribution to his (virtual) coffee fund.
